Does anyone know a good online resource for finding places where we can take our dog.

We are planning a trip to Scotland in summer, driving around the North West. We live in Switzerland and are used to being able to take the dog pretty much everywhere with us and find it difficult in UK.

What do people do when they visit tourist attractions etc?

Thanks. I did google a while ago but the website was very hard to negotiate.

Will have a look at those websites.

The last one is probably the best as covers everything.

i think the Dogs Trust have a list of dog friendly accommodation

contact tourist information where you are going and ask for list of dog family accommodation, tourist attractions, restuarants

some places like pembroke castle in west wales allow dogs but i think it is unusual for tourist attractions to allow dogs

Very few attractions allow dogs or have kennels you can use. Usually would leave dogs in the car,( as can guarentee it won't be hot Grin ). Actually if you have to leave dog in the car where it could be hot, get a crate with a lock and leave the boot open.

Out of town, lots of pubs usually have at least an area where you can have the dog with you ( inside ).

With a dog in Late July/August, I'd definately get your accommadation booked.

Good advice, thanks. Will start planning. Not quite sure where we are going yet.

She still does (just) fit in my handbag at a push, so I can always smuggle her in.
