Might. There doesn't seem to be many rescues in my area. Teesside, if anyone knows of any? I am waiting to hear back from Saltburn Animal Rescue.

Doris Banham Trust just rang to see if I'd be interested in having a homecheck, but I'm very far away so they might not have any dogs in that would suit with kids and cats and obviously it's long way to take a dog, just to bring him back if I can't/won't work with him (like that would ever happen Grin)

They are going to arrange a homecheck asap and keep me in mind. They mainly get Staffordshire Bull Terriers and greyhounds

Oh yes it's for fostering. Not rehoming. I only ohysically ahve space for three dogs and figure I can help more dogs by fostering than by rehoming a third dog permantly.

:)

Trudy is pretty local to you. She's not a rescue owner but the founder of Greyt Exploitations, the campaign group for Greyhounds and is a lovely, lovely lady.

Why not drop her a line at [email protected] and ask her of anyone she knows locally to you both - it need not be a Greyhound, she'll have far better knowledge of local rescues of all breeds than I do. If you do please give her my very best regards! :)

On the other side to you there is Farplace, in Stsnhope, Weardale (the owners are Jan and her son, Gareth, they're nice too).

And in Newcastle, there is GSD Rescue and Rehoming North East, not an organisation I've personally had more than the briefest of dealings and that was years back with but worth speaking to if you're inclined towards fostering a Shep.

Good luck Matey! :)

I did look at GSD rehoming I might contact them when DH is out. There are three gorgeous, but quite free range GSDs just down the road from us and he is a bit nervous of them understatment of the year. I, otoh, love them. I just wish they were better cared for Sad We used to have a GSD when I was young.

I'll definately contact the greyhound place.
