When puppy first came in Scruff would 'tell her off' aka run upto her growling if she was doing anything he wasn't allowed to do. And she would run off.

She doesn't run off anymore. She stands her ground growling and barking back. Neither of them do anything. They just stand barking at each other.

Occassionally one will run off and the other will give chase, but when they catch each other they continue standing and barking at each other.

Also Scruff has started to show that he is a bit jelous and won't let the puppy sit with me. She is fine to sit with DH and the dc but he will go for her if she sits with me.

Will this pass? Do I need the trainer back? Is there anything I can do?

The standing barking/chasing sounds more like play to me.

Just give Scruff lots of extra fuss and praise and treat him for for being good while you are fussing Poppy, make Poppy a good thing to be around, bring out some extra tasty treats.

Don't tell him off for his 'jealousy' it will just make him more resentful. Make sure he gets plenty of time just with his mum and encorage dh and dc's to play more with Poppy while you are doing it.
