My little girl is 3 weeks old and I’m really struggling to get her off to sleep on an evening because she’s either wide awake or flailing her arms around and waking her self. Due to this I’m exhausted and I keep falling asleep in the bed unsafely with her!
if I try put her in her next to me crib whilst she’s awake she just screams so then I have to pick her back up again. It feels like a vicious cycle but I really don’t want to be falling asleep with her in bed because I would never forgive my self if something happened.
any advice or tips? I know it’s a stage and it will pass but I’m massively struggling.
thanks all x

Bumping for you for the evening crowd

Hi, first of all congratulations and just wanted to say you sound like you are doing a great job. Newborns are tough.

My son didn't like to be put down in the Moses basket at first and then I realised if I warmed the mattress up first he would sleep (think the coolness shocked him).

Have you tried swaddling? That might also be worth trying (my children are nearly grown up now so not sure if people still do this)

This phase will pass

Hi thanks so much! I will definitely try both of the above, I have swaddles so I can try this tonight as it’s a bit cooler too!
