6 month old sleep problems

My 6 month old won’t sleep more than half hour unless I’m holding her; I usually nurse her to sleep at night; and then she’ll sleep for a couple hours but be awake every half hour after I put her back to bed. Same through the day. She’s exhausted, I’m exhausted… any tips to get her to self settle?

Is this a new thing?

Very normal. Ferber method. Takes 3 days and hardly any crying. 6 months is the perfect age to do it. If not done so yet, I'd put her in your room. She probably stirs and senses you're there and then wakes up. Same thing happened with both of mine and moving helped tremendously. I never really believed this, but a lot of people put it down to hunger at this age so you could consider feeding her more / a bit of solids before bed, but no experience myself of this
