8 month old came into contact with coldsore

I am looking for some advice about how worried I need to be as my 8 month old came into accidental contact with my coldsore yesterday morning. I am fully aware of the dangers and am really strict with not kissing him or letting him touch my face etc when I have one but yesterday he just accidentally banged his cheek into it. I washed his cheek with soap immediately after and I have since bought some of the patches which I should have done before but now I am tormenting myself with worry about what might happen. Any experiences of something similar where your child was fine would be so welcome right now! 🙏

I think its newborns where it can be serious but for older babies and upwards are usually just a bit sore and uncomfortable like they are for most people. I’ve had cold sores since I was about pre-school age I think.

Familiarise yourself with the NHS advice online, seek advice from a pharmacist if your DC starts getting one, and do try to stop worrying (not easy I know).
