Dummies

Anyone got any recommendations or advice to get my 6 week old to take a dummy?? We've been trying for about 4 weeks with Tomee Tippee and managed to get him to take it properly about twice, and not for over a week. We have also been trying Mam ones for about the last two weeks and again he's taken it a grand total of one time. He is mostly breastfed, he has 3 bottles a week which are Tommee Tippee but to be honest hes never been that fussed on those either and seems to be going off them the last two rather than getting more used to them!

My older two children were similarly mostly breastfed but neither had any problem taking the first bottles and dummies we tried. Phillips Avent natural for DC1 (don't seem to be widely available anymore?) and Tommee Tippee for DC2.

I really don't want to EBF and I really want this baby to have a dummy because I think it helps so much with sleep later down the line. Help Grin

Personally hate dummies and actively avoided using for DC1 and now with DC2. She would take a bottle occasional despite brestfeeding, so a dummy isnt a requirement to avoid EBF. I can get it’s hard work though as I use breastfeeding for comforting not just nutrition

Maybe they just don't like that specific dummy, some children are very particular about their dummies.
