Ewan the Dream Sheep

Did anyone else fall for the marketing guff put out about this sheep, buy it, and find that it doesn’t work at all, and their newborn hates it? I mean, it helps me drop off, but it doesn’t work at all for her.

I’ve tried it so many times, and it just makes her cranky. I don’t get how so many people seem to have good experiences with it, when it just doesn’t work for my baby.

It’s a marketing gimmick. Just play white noise on your phone 😂

Dontsparethehorses · 29/11/2024 06:12

I had two one each as it really did work for my 2 children- it is a nicer white noise machine but I bought from eBay second hand so hadn’t spent a fortune.
don’t give up after only a couple of nights make it part of their routine and you never know it might work as your baby gets a bit bigger. Anything to stop the nap battle helps!

My DC loved Ewan, he really took one for the team for us several times 🐑

SnowSnow · 29/11/2024 06:40

I ordered one at 3am one morning in desperation. I’m not sure if it made any difference and once the batteries ran out we never replaced them. We just use an Alexa upstairs for white noise but I don’t think it necessarily helps our little one anyway!

ringmybe11 · 29/11/2024 06:49

We still use ours every night and DS is 2.5!

Newmum738 · 29/11/2024 07:10

The kids ones didn't work for me at all. Instead, we got a no frills white noise machine and it has worked a dream ever since. DS is now 6. We tried to wean him off it but he was unwell or something so we went back and it has stayed ever since 😂

babasaclover · 29/11/2024 07:44

It's a load of shit I bought it in desperation. It didn't work so I sent it back for a refund to Amazon.

DanceTheDevilBackIntoHisHole · 29/11/2024 08:37

DS1 loved it and it did nothing for DS2. It's one of those things, and very much dependant on the child.

Frozensnow · 29/11/2024 08:39

One of mine loved the harp music on it. I haven’t heard the harp tune in over a decade but I know if I did I’d be transported right back to those exhausting times!

Negangirlxx · 29/11/2024 10:30

I have started using the white noise feature on my Alexa and that seems to work really well for her. Wish I hadn’t bothered buying the bloody sheep in the first place. Oh well, you live and you learn!

Yes completely, I think he's marmite for babies - some do seem to love him, mine was not one! Someone needs to set up a Ewan for Hire so you can check.

jackiesgirl · 20/05/2025 07:32

How do I clean this? Been given one by a family member and would like to give it a try but needs freshening up first, I assumed the electronic bit would come out so it could go in the washing machine but it doesn’t. Seems a bit backward to design something meant for babies that can’t be easily washed

SpikeGilesSandwich · 21/05/2025 19:23

@jackiesgirlno clue! DS threw up on ours and it was never the same. Ended up in the bin, sadly.
