Dear lord give me strength.

I have an almost 4 month old who has decided she doesn't want to sleep longer than 3-5 hours anymore.

She was doing so well, sleeping 6-7 hours.

Is it a leap? A growth spurt? Is she just keeping me on my toes?

How do I get her to sleep for longer? I'm demented.

She wakes for a feed, falls asleep straight away, then sometimes wakes up and falls asleep as soon as she's on me.

I need more sleep. I have a very active toddler lol.

I'm up. No particular reason, just not asleep. Which is annoying as I have to be alert later this morning and a 2.30 wake up will knock me out later.
Perhaps I'll catch up with a nap around 6ish and an afternoon nap.

I'm up too. Slept really well for 3 hours and then ping! I'm tidying the spare bedroom as we have guests this weekend, so I might as well do something useful as I'm awake.

4 month olds can be frustrating with sleep patterns. Just when you start feeling smug that they sleep through, they turn nocturnal for a bit. You just have to endure it until it ends, and sleep when you can.
Can you tag team with DP so neither of you gets a full sleep but both of you get at least a 5 hour block of sleep at some point?

Oh that's tough when you have a toddler too. Mine all got very hungry around the 4 month stage. Not a popular opinion but I admit to giving them a bit of baby rice about that age.

Going through the same thing. Mine was sleeping 6-7 hours for the first stretch then another 2 hours. Now hes up every 2 hours. I’m exhausted.

If he wakes up close to 4am he won’t go to sleep independently after that (only on me) so that’s me awake for the day. I also have another one to look after.

Mines is exactly the same.

Let's pray it gets better. I know it does as I have another who went through the same thing.

Plenty of coffee today 😂

He's great thankfully. He will get up with the children & let me have a few hours. It's the only way I survive right now.

Just feel guilty not being there in the mornings until about 10am for toddler.

I hope you get some well deserved rest later 💐

You're better than me. I'd lay in bed 😂

Often I will just stay in bed and try not to fidget too much and disturb DH 😀

Moomoomomo · 09/11/2023 05:28

I've been awake since 4. 39 weeks pregnant with dc4, woke up to pee and disturbed dc3 so now there is a 6 year old wriggling around in bed next to me.

Not doing anything productive! Will get up properly at 6am to sort out school bags and uniforms because I couldn't be arsed last night.

InMySpareTime · 09/11/2023 07:03

Got another 10 minutes sleep at 6am, and emailed the thing I was due to do this morning to say I'm not up to it. Today I shall be mostly zombie
