What should she do?

DD has 6 month old baby. He has never slept right through but managed 4-5 hours at a time. Now he's waking up to 10 times, she cuddles him and he goes back down - he doesn't need changing or feeding, just wakes.

Any suggestions how to break this cycle as she's exhausted and feels such a failure when other babies are sleeping right through.

Could LO be teething? Have they just started weaning could it be discomfort? There's so many reasons why a LO could be waking at that age and is very normal although 10 times will be exhausting.
She certainly shouldn't feel like a failure, not that many babies will be sleeping through the night at this age. Heck I'm up at this time with my 3 year old. Tell her to hang in there it does get easier.

Thanks for the replies. He is teething and has just started on solids so there's probably a lot going on for him to contend with. She spoke to her HV and she reassured that she wasn't doing anything wroing,
