Welcome to our new Wide Awake Club board, sponsored by MAM!

We know lots of you come to Mumsnet in the middle of the night looking for a hand-hold, tips on helping your baby sleep or just for a chat with fellow wide-awakers who can appreciate the bone-aching tiredness. If all that sounds familiar, then this is the board for you.

We hope you find this space useful and comforting - join in whether you’re looking for advice, a chat or you’ve got some wisdom to share that might help others.

Great idea! Though I appreciate that an ‘I’m awake because of a DC’ post is very different to an ‘I’m awake because of menopause’ post - I guess we can all sympathise!

Great idea. I’m sleeping better now since I went on HRT but I used to be on here at 2 or 3 am nearly every night.

Another one for the menopause wide awake. Pissed off I'd done the "sleep hygiene" thing despite DH knowing I can't sleep he woke me up when he came to bed. He's snoring now, so left to sleep in the spare room 2 hrs ago and still awake. Thanks for the rant! Not looking forward as many are to a day feeling on my knees again until the next bedtime. As I imagine anyone who can't sleep is feeling that anxiety of what tomorrow holds....

Is that really the board name MN have decided to go with? I wonder how many other '80s kids will have a different mental image of The Wide Awake Club...

@MudLady I thought it sounded familiar! Will there be tutorials on how to make things out of toilet rolls and egg cartons?

DoorstoManual · 08/02/2023 08:33

I thought we had a perfectly good night shift thread going. …???

SirChenjins · 08/02/2023 11:55

I agree @DoorstoManual is this needed when one has already been running for ages? Other Boards also run throughout the night too Confused

I'm awake in the middle of the night often. Due to chronic pain. Having this hosted by MAM makes me feel it's only for those up with babies.

Search for the night shift threads.

Something I started in 2019, when I had been diagnosed with a second primary in four years, I couldn't sleep, I ranted on a thread I started and invited others to leave their worries as I would look over them. A lot of people got comfort from putting their worries down and a lot then generally slept, some having the first decent night's sleep they had had in ages.

It caught on and is still going to date.

Can't see the point of this one.

Thanks for the tip, I’m awake because of all the steroids I’m getting with chemo. Browsing Aibu I saw this thread advertised.

Off to search night shifts thread, will look out for yours 😊

I’m awake because I lost my baby last month. We had to have a termination for medical reasons. I’m devastated.

When I discovered I was pregnant I signed up to lots of pregnancy/new mum websites including MAM who sponsor this new talk topic.

I keep getting emails from MAM and can’t seem to unsubscribe. When you hit the unsubscribe button it doesn’t actually let you unsubscribe it just takes you to a page of further email ‘opt in’ pages with no actual option to unsubscribe.

If I click on MAM’s contact page there is no email address only a contact form relating to specific products with a limited drop down menu and no ‘general’ or ‘unsubscribe’ option.

I would really appreciate MAM to make it possible to unsubscribe from their email list, it’s hell to receive emails about pregnancy when you are no longer pregnant.

I have found so many pregnancy websites to be complicated to unsubscribe from which I think is unacceptable given how prevalent pregnancy loss is.

I feel my loss all the more keenly when I receive emails telling me about my baby’s weekly progress when my poor baby is dead.

It’s torture.

Please make it stop.

@WarriorsComeOutToPlayay I'm so sorry for your loss ~ do email Mumsnet about this, if they are sponsored by them Im sure they'd like to try and help. Take care
