get them to watch it on 4OD. Ive been watching and hope this is the sort of thing my dd gets taught. Shes only 5 now though so still a bit young

backtotalkaboutthis · 07/07/2010 21:44

I haven't seen this but I gather if you tell your children that really fantastic sex all the time is their right, that sort of does the job.

my 14 yo dd is watching it

Eglu · 07/07/2010 21:53

I did laugh at the boy woh said people should stop having sex at 30.

I also said to DH that they called older people over 50. I must be getting old since I don't find the idea of 50 old.

ThatVikRinA22 · 07/07/2010 21:55

funny how kids think!

my 18 year old walked into my bedroom the other week while we were in the throes of....um...it

he shrugged and said " i knew you must do it sometime" and was completely unfazed! more than could be said for me...

Yep DD 16 will watch it with me, but missed a bit of last nights and watched it on 4OD. She is OK and we have been able to discuss it.

thegoodishlife · 08/07/2010 21:13

Okay am I being narrow-minded, but I am completely at the woman who said she'd pay for a prostitute to take her DS's virginity when he's 18.....

LittleNutTree · 08/07/2010 21:39

Aww, I'm crying watching it just now! The pg couple that are on today have just had a 4d scan and have been told that their baby is a girl!

zephyrcat · 08/07/2010 21:46

I just sat flicking through channels and caught some of it, they started showing the naked models and close ups and then I turned over because dd was watching with me, to which she turned and shouted "I'S WATCHING THAT!"

She's 2 and a half!

backtotalkaboutthis · 09/07/2010 18:06

yes.. goodlife that's not narrowminded. It's normal to be shocked by that.

Alambil · 09/07/2010 19:47

I'm going to watch it on 4od - I think it should be taught like that in school; frank, honest, no shying away... very good, IMO (from the other series' I've seen - I've not seen this one yet)

RespectTheDoughnut · 09/07/2010 19:54

I wasn't shocked by the prostitute. I thought it was kind of sweet & understanding.

backtotalkaboutthis · 09/07/2010 22:23

Tis shocking. It's an adult experience not an apron strings experience.

purits · 09/07/2010 22:35

I'm a bit about the series. It's good that she is so open about everything but towards the end of the week I felt as if she was telling my teenage DS that he was a freak if he wasn't at it hammer and tongs because everyone else in the universe is doing it. Also, there is too much about the mechanicals of sex and not enough about love and relationships.

RespectTheDoughnut · 09/07/2010 22:37

My totally able-bodied, NT friend's mum got him a stripper / prostitute for his 16th. I guess it takes more to shock me

backtotalkaboutthis · 10/07/2010 20:04

I guess it must. I'm revolted by that.

RespectTheDoughnut · 10/07/2010 21:59

To be fair, she was the sort of mum who bought them both marijuana to smoke together, so...

DandyDan · 11/07/2010 21:15

I watched it with a 16 yr old one episode; the 16 yr old watched it with a bunch of 18 yr olds the second episode. I watched the third with a near 12 yr old and 16 yr old - both girls - and we found it really good educational stuff, and got past the "ew, icky" factor very quickly.
