They're not telling the truth are they? I mean, yes underage people have sex but the bravado, the belief that everybody's 'linking' or whatever they're calling it, it's not true is it?

I thought it might have been quite surprising, teenagers being sensible, having sex in relationships etc but unfortunately it's everything you expect it to be!

I think it does MHFP, when I was a teenager (not that long ago, am 23) there was a guy who we all absolutely ADORED and whilst we weren't all having full sex with him, three of my friends did "stuff" with him in the same evening.

We were a mixed group of friends and would just kind of swap partners at whim, never really went out with any of the boys but got with all of them iyswim. I'm not shocked at the behaviour but I am quite shocked at how relaxed the parenting is!

Oh and she is in her dressing gown on national tv.

I lost mine two days after I turned 16, have had loads of sex with loads of different men, was a total horndog, still have a really high sex drive (happily married with three kids now) and, at age 39, have no regrets.

Oh I know it happens. I just meant their assumptions that everybody's doing it and sex is no big deal and no regrets. I'm only 29 and at 16 only a couple of friends had had sex and they were in relationships. Things can't have changed that much.

I knew what was best for me even then. I had no inhibitions, chose a man, age 23, based on his experience and access, and enjoyed every minute of it.

It's entirely possible for people to know what is best for them sexually from an early age and have no regrets about their sex lives even if they started at an early age.

Oh no I agree expat. I was referring to the girl saying 'everybody's 'linking' now, no relationships, just casual, sex is no big deal for anybody'. I'm disputing that this is the case for the majority. She can speak of her own experience yes absolutely.

For me, linking was what I preferred. I just didn't really want to be tied down.

But did know more than a few girls who had sex at 15 with real boyfriends.

It's just sad. You have a long time to be an adult, why rush into it?

Pre 16 I have many happy memories of sleepovers, eating too many strawberry laces, watching terrible Keanu Reeves films and having a good laugh with my friends over the More problem page. I wouldn't have swopped those times for anything.
