24 Season 1 - Tell Me It Gets Good

We've watched the first four episodes of Season 1 and I've found it a bit annoying so far. The daughter kidnapping especially.

Does it get good?

No seriously it gets fantastic. Wait till the Palmer storyline develops a bit more, also till you find out why the daughter has been kidnapped.
It gets great.

Have you seen the fantastic limo scene with Kopel yet?

Thanks Vmcd28 - I wondered if it was just me (and dh) who found her really annoying.

I'm going on maternity leave next week and wish I could watch a few at a time but dh will probably want to continue watching it.

We've got Season's 1-4 in a boxset.

It's completely absurd but strangely addictive. You will reach the point where you've watched four in a day and keep saying 'Oh let's just watch one more..' etc. It's a page-turner, only in tv form.

Agree Kim is irritating though.

Yes, Tidey - that's a good description - 'a page turner'. The episodes are about 41 minutes long but go by in a flash. I guess that's why it's seemed so unsatisfying so far.

Can't imagine watching it with adverts.

Me and dh never watch 24 with ads and a weeks break between each episode, we record them and store them up so we can watch one a night (if not more!!)and FF the ads. It's much more exciting that way.

I am one of the few who actually liked Kim. I thought she had great chemistry with Jack and found their father/daughter scenes really touching.

Season 1,2 and 3 are the best IMO. I stopped caring after that. George Mason has to be the best snarky character. Did you see the scene where he mimicks Tony's breathy voice? (I think it's in the 2nd episode) I had to rewind it a few times I was laughing so hard.

Kopel is not a main character but the scene he's in is fantastic. Beats any violence that came in the later series.

Oops shouldn't give too much away!

Let us know how you're enjoying it. I miss early-days 24.... Back in the days when it was on late night BBC2 and no-one had heard of it.

Ugh, ihate kim, whiny little brat. But yes, it does get good. 24 seasons tend to have a slow few hours, then a mad few, then slow etc, normally about 3 cycles. Enjoy

Watched No 5 last night (4am-5am) and yes it did get better.

Dh and I laughed that it was because Kim had tape over her mouth for the entire episode.

Fascinated to find out who this Kopel character is.

S1 is the only one I've watched more than once (but I'll admit that's only because it's got the divine Misha Collins in it)

Kim is always annoying.

Definitely a reason to watch the series more than once.
In fact I haven't seen it in years I might pull out my dusty boxset. Nothing left to watch on TV at the moment.

Kim is useless, which is why she's so irritating.
Sheri is a great character, but damn, she needs a slap so badly!

Okay, I'm willing to accept that Sheri is a good character. Very Shakespearean - the ruthless woman behind the powerful man.

I'm at the bit where Jack has just been apprehended by the Secreet Service and back in the office Nina and the guy with the funny goatie beard have sussed Jaime.

Anyway, still no Kopel anonacfr and I'm not sure if Misha Collins has featured yet. I googled and yes nice.

Ahhhh. I'm just used to people knowing him from Supernatural and then realising he was the hot guy from 24 Didn't recognise you from that (currently defunct) thread so was curious!

Goatie beard guy is growing on me though.

Is it just me or does anyone else find that when Jack gets all upset he looks like a wee boy?
