Am I the only person loving this? like a soap. with gorgeous children and a lovely house.

I'm very of the big red aga and the nice river/garden/otters etc.

love it love it love it

I adore this and so do the children.
Beautiful, stunning photography, but also devastatingly honest and 'real' about what it's like trying to get young children involved in wildlife.

PussinJimmyChoos · 30/05/2010 20:40

Think the elder child looked a bit blase about his Dad's attempt to get him into wildlife tbh, which I thought was a shame as so many kids would love it

I like that the Dad is into nature but think he's a bit of a sop....

rather...?! Hmmm...

My boys (11 and 12) are passionate about wildlife and quite committed. Last summer they spent 2 hours in almost complete silence in a hide hoping to see pine martens, and saw absolutely nothing.

But at other times they are not interested, don't want to come with us, and moan and groan because they'd rather be at home with their computer.

It's just kids for you. There's only so much patience/interest you can reasonable expect of them.

PussinJimmyChoos · 30/05/2010 22:13

He's attractive but a bit well...wet

YouDontRememberMeDoYou · 30/05/2010 22:55

It's all a bit 'look at us with our lovely pompous lifestyle don't you wish you were us' though - isn't it. Better to have got some kids in who had never had that chance to sit by a river for hours on end...

It's like watching a Sunday Times supplement in live action.....

roisin · 31/05/2010 07:31

I really like: 'look at us with our lovely lifestyle don't you wish you were us' though.

Certainly don't agree that they are pompous.

And anyway, anyone can sit by a river for hours on end if they choose to. It's not an expensive thing to do.

treacletart · 31/05/2010 11:20

We're enjoying this and not getting any smugness from them at all ... but still..

Charlie and Phillipa with your enormous beautiful house and your own stretch of river, beautiful boys, gorgeous partners, your own production company and your 2 minute commute..

where did it all go wrong eh?

MarthaQuest · 01/06/2010 17:12

What do ypu mean, treacletart?

Have they split up

treacletart · 01/06/2010 19:13

No no no it's sarcasm Martha - as famously what the hotel bellboy who delivered champagne to George Best's room and found him entertaining a scantily-clad Miss World on a bed covered with his winnings from the casino allegedly said: "So George, where did it all go wrong?"

MarthaQuest · 01/06/2010 20:16

Good, because they're one family on TV I don't find too annoying.

orienteerer · 01/06/2010 20:19

DS(7) loves it.

orienteerer · 01/06/2010 20:20

He's definitely not wet!
