So many things that I am slightly confused about, or that don't add up. Thought I would ask what others think, there may be some things that I missed along the way...

WALT - wasn't he supposed to be "special"? Can't see how.

Are they currently in present time? Got a bit confused with time zones.

Where are the 'others' now. Remind me what the others are, or why they were so scary.

When Walt was taken by the others, remind me why they wanted him.

Has it ever been explained why women cant give birth on the island?

How did there get to be a polar bear on the island?

Thats is for now, am sure I will think of at least a few hundred more questions.

I think the polar bear was brought to the island by Dharma - probably for experiments. When Sawyer and Kate where captured by the others (season 3?) they were held in the bear cage (the same cage they all were held in by Widmore's lot in the submarine episode).

You're right, there are a lot of questions, particularly from the early seasons, that haven't been addressed.

DecorHate · 22/05/2010 12:50

Wasn't Claire's baby supposed to be special too (but sort of evil?) and that was one of the reasons why she was going to give him up for adoption?

Gamam · 22/05/2010 12:51

Yeah there was a bit hoohah about Walt and now no mentino

Ceebee74 · 22/05/2010 13:00

I thought exactly the same thing about Walt last night - they made a big thing about him and now nothing unless he is going to appear in some twist at the end??

It makes my brain hurt thinking about it all but am I right in thinking that Jacob has been 'meddling' with all the survivors lives since they were born with the aim of getting the on that plane? Such as ensuring Hurley won the lottery etc.

Were all the people on the plane potential candidates then? Had Jacob been 'meddling' in all those people's lives to ensure they all got on the plane?

Who bought the Others to the island? Who bought those people living in the temple to the island?

those are just a few of my random thoughts/questions

mummalish · 22/05/2010 15:26

Totally forgot about the temple, didn't quite get that whole malarkey. What was the temple anyway, and why was the chinese leader so aggressive?

Do you remember him meeting Jack at his son David's piano concert, what was that all about.

And what about Daniel Faraday and his whole long saga of a story? How did that turn out.

OP posts:
ZacharyQuack · 22/05/2010 21:29

Oh yes, Daniel Faraday and "Desmond is my constant". Not much really came of that.

Do you get the feeling that the writers are just making this stuff up as they go along?

cookielove · 22/05/2010 21:35

Ok i feel i may be a little ahead, so before i add to this, what happened in the last episode you watched?

mummalish · 23/05/2010 06:52

I am up to date with the episodes, just thinking back to past episodes, where some of it is confusing.

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 23/05/2010 07:42

Cookie I don't think you can be ahead as everyone is at the same place now and the last episode is being shown simultaneously in US and the UK on Monday morning (Sunday eve in the US)

I don't want to say too much about what happened in the lat episode as people may read this who haven't watched it yet - but basically, Jacob chose his candidate, Desmond turned himself in to Sawyer at the police station (in the alternate universe)...that should be enough info for you to go on.

MamaG · 23/05/2010 07:55

ceebee I was just puzzling over "desmond turned himself in to sawyer" thinking "no he didn't, he stayed as Desmond then realised what you meant

clearly, Lost messes with your brain

Why has Jack suddenly got a son? He didn't mentino him until this series did he?

mummalish · 23/05/2010 10:31

I am sure there will be some big revelation with regards to Jacks son, why else would it be so mysterious, and aren't we all desperate to know who the mother is.

OP posts:
ZacharyQuack · 23/05/2010 12:16

Isn't Jack's son part of the "alternate" storyline though? What would have/has happened due to the explosion on the island in the 70s preventing the . So in earlier seasons, Jack didn't have a son because that is an alternative timeline.

Just like in the LA stories at the moment, Sawyer and Miles are partners, Desmond works for Widmore, etc.

I think the LA stories are showing that the explosion in the 70s has impacted the directions that the characters lives have taken and the choices they have made (except for Kate, who appears to have killed her stepfather anyway....)

PDog · 23/05/2010 14:59

Thanks Zachary that has answered something that has been puzzling me for awhile. I was thinking why are their lives so different in the alternate universe, surely they should be the same until they get on the plane. But the fact that they changed things in the 70's makes sense.

Anyone else think they haven't really answered the questions you really wanted answering, like about Walt and the Dharma Initiative and Charles Widmore etc and just answered crap stuff that you weren't even bothered/had forgotten about, like Adam and Eve?

I have a theory that when they don't really have any answers, they just kill a character off so in the finale they will die one by one to save having to resolve everything - the end
