High Street Dreams: The Den Kit

Did anyone watch High Street Dreams last night? I have never watched it before, but flicked over to it whilst trying to avoid taking a break from writing my essay.

I loved The Den Kit, and I've had a look this morning and they have a whole website of stuff which looks lovely. Not cheap, but really nice ideas.

I am writing a wish list (when I should still really be writing an essay...)

Thanks for the link, I loved what they were doing, not sure on the milk one.

The milk one looked overpriced and too similar to other stuff which is already available IMHO. But I liked the fact that the Den Kit women were really enthusiastic about the idea behind their product.

Great idea, if a bit pricey, but ime The Entertainer isn't the cheapest of retailers anyway . Would sit well in John Lewis and garden centres.

I love these sort of programs, Dragons Den is my favourite so fun to have something else along similar lines. They seem to be much nicer to the entrepreneurs!

Looking forward to the the gift one as there was a local company that nearly got into the last few but missed out in the last bit, shame as they would have been great. They have a dog pooper scooper and there is enough people in this world who need to pick up after their dogs so shame that publicity did not happen.

Haven't seen the one from last night yet but will check it out on iplayer. I enjoyed the food one last week though, loved the singh family, I hope they do really well out of it. The burgers looked tasty as well.

We may well look in the entertainer for the Den Kit.

I peresonaly think it should also contain a pen knife and some matches to light fires

I didn't get the drink at all until I looked on their website. Don't think it was explained properly on the show. It seems like more of a nutritional supplement than a smoothie. It's got omega 3 etc in it.

The Den Kit looks fun but maybe not for my urban kids. Don't think the local council would welcome them playing with it in our local parks!

I can't get the link to work pink?

We live in the sticks country, so lots of opportunity for hiding out in the woods with one.

I don't think it necessarily does gender stereotype, I was thinking that one would be fun for all 3 of mine to play with (2 x DS and 1 x DD) when the little ones are a bit older.

Although I have just bought my DS a French Knitting Doll, so I may just be a bit insane

helyg I have no idea why the link doesn't work- I'm not good with technology! Maybe just copy it into your browser directly: www.nyum.co.uk
worth having a look if you can get in as it actually looks like a great product to me!

Must say, when it comes to the kit my kids love engaging in their own creative play without needing directions or equipment, and I'm sure that's true of most kids. They love building indoor 'camps' with bed sheets and turing the whole sitting room upside down, and then making a 'picnic' for the camp. I wish they found the 'tidying up game' as much fun!

I thought the Den Kit couple were great and it looks like Jo Malone did too!! I loved the kit, when mine try to make den's, they can ever find any string, the blankets from the guest bed are apparently the only ones that will work and there are never any pegs left with the tent!!!

Harrycornwall · 15/03/2012 12:49

I've just seen this thread. My kids absolutely LOVE their den kit. We bought this one www.edenproject.com/shop/Kids-Den-Kit-9615.aspx because it contained more than the others - and as you said DeidreB, you can never have too much string for it - the house usually gets wrecked while they're trying to find blankets etc. It comes with camoflage paint too so they look hilarious when they're playing with it! It absolutely went down a treat with them. :)
