Royal Wedding - anyone watching?

Have been enjoying it, lots of good period detail, though I was irked when Modern Love (which I really like) was played as it wasn't written till 1982 and released in 1983.

Thought it started well but then rambled off into a load of cliches. I did like the way they evoked the bleakness of the 1980s and also showed how, in retrospect, the hero worship stuff around Charles and Di and the royal wedding was really silly.
I loved the bit where Diana was going into the Church in her wedding dress and one character remarked 'that could do with an iron' as I remember by aunt saying exactly the same thing at the time.

I watched some of this last night. I remembered at the time thinking Diana's hair looked a bit lank and that was the first thing that caught my eye last night!

Yes it lapsed into cliches - and the ending wasn't really credible. But I also thought the early eighties atmosphere was authentic. And the 'iron' bit (remember my sister saying 'That dress looks creased - and green!' - and, now, looking at the clips they showed, you had the impression that the cameras were avoiding showing the skirt!).

And the DJ was delightfully Alan Partridge like. Yes I know, before Mr P ever appeared, but then in a way he was a composite of a lot of 80s characters.
