This adoption storyline in Corrie

Surely a CONVICTED MURDERER could not possibly have any sway over whether a couple would be allowed to adopt.

Agree. The whole storyline has been completely unrealistic. Very annoying and misleading for anyone who is doing this in real life.

I don't watch Corrie anyway, but I find it best for my blood pressure if I don't watch any tv or read novels with an adoption storyline. Without knowing anything about the Corrie plot I can say with almost complete confidence that it's completely unrealistic.

Doesn't Becky have relatively recent convictions of her own? Wasn't she just out of prison when she first arrived in Corrie?

And they should just allows Steve and Becky to get on with it and grow as a couple for a while instead of the constant make-up-break-up shite.

I think the whole storyline around Tracey's return is ridiculous. I've only seen bits of it, but I gather the idea is that she gets out of prison because she supposedly gets a confession from Gail. I can't believe that would happen in real life or you'd have murderers walking free all the time.

I doubt either would be allowed to adopt if it was RL

I hate this storyline too. I wouldn't let either of these couples adopt in RL.

They'll probably be turned down, Tracy will have a 'change of heart' and offer to be a surrogate but will have no intention of handing over the baby, just wants to get back at Becky and Steve because she hates them.

I cannot believe Steve and Becky will get the go-ahead either, I have no experience of this myself. But, he has been in prison for GBH or something, been married about 5 times, she has been in an out of prison, and been a drug user, they've only just got married, live above a pub, work all hours, Liz smokes all the time in their flat, and is incapable of holding down a steady relationship, the mother of Steve's child is a murderer, Steve's Dad is a murderer and an alcoholic, I don't know what the RL criteria are, but he isn't allowed to be the licensee for the Rovers because of his record, so I cannot imagine he fits adoption criteria.

Also find it hard to believe that Tracey didn't notice that her daughter has just undergone a complete body transplant!

It is a sill story line. I dont know why they dont go for a surrogate, her eggs are good and they seem to have abit of money. I wouldnt fancy having any child in a pub though, their garden is the pub smoking section!! Im loving her hair (Beckys)
