aibu to be completely creeped out and quite horrified by this programme?

so the girls are watched and presided over by andrew lloyd webber and at the end they have to stand and sing
'we thank you very sweetly'
as the girl who is going home has to ritually remover her "ruby" slippers and give them back to andrew lloyd webber while he smiles the kind of smile that if i was a mother of a girl on that show would have me phoning social services.....

i sort of expected a pile of rot but this really truly takes the biscuit!

yuk.

yanbu

"you ditched her so completely" - horrid.

But, as the wonderful Sheila Hancock says, these girls have got to grow very, very thick skins if they're going to make it in the harsh world of showbiz (paraphrased by me).

No different to Joseph having hic coat removed whilkst singing Close Every Door to Me, can't remember what Nancy & Maria had to do. Maria's song was SO Long, Farewell with her begging to be allowed to stay.

you realise in 10 years time when reality shows have moved on they will probably make them kiss his feet or something....

i just find it all horribly uncomfortable to watch.

I've only seen clips of it on tv news/comedy shows like Charlie Brooker, Russell Howard, etc..
It all looks so sinister! YANBU!

They are only repeating the dialogue from the film. The munchkins are speaking to dorothy about killing the wicked witch...( yes, I've seen it a few times)

so it ties in- big deal! Producers probably peed their pants with excitement when they found this scene suited the dorothys exits...
