The Pacific

Sorry if there is a thread already on this I've looked but couldn't find one ..

Is anyone else not that impressed with it??
Band of Brothers is my all time fav american series beats 24 , lost ( just ) etc etc..

I find the characters hard to follow, i get confused who has died gone off etc etc ...

Just wondered how everyone felt about the show

How far are you into it. I watched the first couple of episodes and thought meh. But it starts to get good around episode 4 when the action really starts. I too absolutely love band of brothers and agree that it was the best american tv series. I thought this was a very poor relation. It still isn't as good but it did get very much better for me. I was almost in tears after the end of episode 8 (Iwo Jima).

I don't think the characters are as memorable as in band of brothers but in band of brothers I recognised many of the actors so got to know who was who quickly. Whereas in the Pacific I think I've only seen the one who was in Jurassic Park before but don't recognise any other actor. That made it a little harder to keep up.

I'm pretty sure I just watched ep7 so will look forward to ep 8. It is getting better but still a far way off band of brothers.. I think I just had such high hopes it was a bit of an anti climax

Yeah it was definitely an anti-climax I think band of brothers was just soooo excellent The Pacific is struggling to match expectations. I reckon if this had come first it would have been a better watch.

Im not impressed with it at all, dh keeps making me watch every week and at the end of every episode I feel like another hour of my life is wasted.
After 6/7 weeks I couldnt name one character, dont really care about any of them.
Same every week, starts slow followed by 1/2 hour mad shooting/war scenes/bloody bodies followed by 5 minute wind down the the end.

I'll be glad when its over
