Can anyone tell me what the point of this programme is as I am clearly missing it?

Same with this presenters previous programme when he was given X amount of pounds to transform someones home and always went over budget.

This programme has been frustrating as you never get to see the finished result. I know in Grand Designs that happened very occasionally but it almost seems deliberate in this programme. Perhaps they're gearing for a follow up series.

Sorry, just having a moan as no-one to discuss it with lol

you could always log on to george's own website here and ask him. however, he did once email me and tell me that he only goes over budget with the permission of the clients and he spends a long time advising them how not to go over so the final decision is always their's.

The point of this programme is to showcase peoperties that have been important architectural building in the past and that nobody has looked after. His clients then choose to rennovate the property, bringing it back to its former glory. So in a way, it's about keeping a part of history that would otherwise be lost.

he's mine too - well, apart from the guys in vampire diaries- yum!

I joined the forum on his site coz you can email him and then he answers himself. He's always on there when he gets time, catching up on questions people have asked him. Are you on the site? I asked him a question about my conservatory and he thought I was being rude about him overspending on budget. he seemed a bit offended that I implied they didn't have a choice in overspending. Anyway - I didn't mean that at all. I haven't asked any others yet as our house project isn't happening for a while.

I agree DelGirl. They seem to have rushed the Restoration Man series to get it onto screen before the series was ready. One week they just showed 2 projects which failed to get planning permission and didn't do any building FFS. Where's the restoration in that?

Last night's was only half finished - and there weren't even any nice kitchens/bathrooms/home furnishings to drool over.

It must be hard to get the timelines right when they are depending on someone's project. They generally manage it in Grand Designs though.
