Eastenders: Save Minty Campaign

Am I the only person who thinks Minty from Eastenders should not be axed? Upon hearing the news I had to have a sit down for almost 30 seconds followed by several pints of beer and a few spliffs to overcome the shock.

Minty is rugged, cuddly, has a herb-based name and looks a bit like an old dog chewing a stick. It is widely recognised in my house that we desperately need more dog-alike characters in soap operas.

So, I hope my campaign to save him will strike a chord at Mumsnet:Telly Addicts and we will save his character.

I'm not too fussed about Minty going, he isn't the same without Gow (Gary)

Peggy to meet a nice genuine man, perhaps Martin Jarvis's character

I can't stand Roxy and would like her to be scammed out of her inherited £3 Million estate. How mean of her not to share it with her sister and not give Peggy the pub.

Is Martin Jarvis old enough for Peggy? He wasn't the last time I looked, but I think he was reading Jackanory then!

I think Martin Jarvis is about 69 and Babs about 73, but I expect his character is supposed to be a bit younger, seeing as he's still working at the Gazette. I think it's really funny Peggy and Pat both think they're in with a chance.

I think we need to up our Minty-savingness.
