does anyone rememeber the good old days of cbeebies with sue, nicole, chris and pui (and andy came later too!)...

anyway they used to sing a lovely lovely bedtime song... it was my fave one (i lkknow i am very very sad! )

have you brished your teeth?
have you washed your face?
have you picked up all of your clothes left all over the place?
Got a bedtime story?.....

and i've forgotten the rest except

hey hey are you ready for bed now?

anyway... it's really bugging me and can't find it on youtube... as they don't seem to go any earlier than 2008! also... what about the lovely monday, tuesday, wednesday, thrusday friday song (you know the one with them dancing around with the bright umberellas!!!)

anyway... just want to know the rest of the words to the bedtime story? any help?....

ta!

cant help with the words unfortunately and it is now going to annoy me tryhing to rememeber them, but I loved the days of the week song! And to my shame I still sing it at the kids they think I am slightly unhinged as they cant really remember what it was like before. Aah them were the days... (looks of into the distance)

LittlePushka · 13/04/2010 00:11

Not so vintage, but I used to like chris's "Do your Bedtime Business" song from a couple of years ago. We still have 7.00pm is bedtime business time in the Pushka House!!

Can't help with your song words bea, it pre-dates my DC!!

bea · 13/04/2010 09:02

please don't tell me i'm the only one who does remember the song!!!!

I suppose it was 7-8 yrs ago as i always used to sing it to my dd1 when it was bedtime...

In1981... yup! i still sing the days of the week song as it helps the dc's to rememeber the order!!!!

I still like the sid and andy counting song
I dont remember the one you are talking about though sorry

WhatDoFlamesDoTheseDays · 13/04/2010 09:25

I remember the once you mean, but can't remember the rest of the words. Was in the good old days with Sue and Nicole.

It would have been about 2003-2004.

I want to say "now its time to go" after the bedtime story bit, but I can't remember anything else.

dustycups · 13/04/2010 09:28

bea · 13/04/2010 10:09

i just remember 'now it's time to say goodnight at the end of a lovely day' or summat

MmeLindt · 13/04/2010 10:14

I loved the one

The time has come, to say goodnight
to say goodbye till the morning light

how did it go?

MmeLindt · 13/04/2010 10:15

The time has come to say farewell
it's the end of a lovely day

Sazisi · 13/04/2010 10:19

The time has come to say goodnight
To say sleep tight til the morning light.
Oh the time has said to stay goodnight
It's the end of a lovely day
We've have so much fun today
Tomorrow's just a dream away
And now it's time to say goodnight
At the end of a lovely day
Goodnight!

MmeLindt · 13/04/2010 10:29

That's it. I used to sing that to the DC at bedtime in the dark and dismal time before we had Cbeebies.

Sazisi · 13/04/2010 10:32

Can't believe I've got all the kds to school/montessori and now I'm watching bloody cbeebies on youtube

I also like that Goodbye Sun, Hello Moon song.

Op, is the song you're thinking of the Jimmer Jammers from nick Jr? With a clean face and toothpaste, A tickle and a hug?

FernieB · 13/04/2010 12:17

I remember it bea! It was my DT's favourite song and they always made sure they had done everything on the list so they could sing along and shout 'Yes' to every question.

bea · 13/04/2010 18:39

sasizi... nope , that's not the one...

FernieB... what were the lyrics....???

sigh! not even youtube or google seem to be coming up with any answers... maybe i shall have to write to chris... as i'm sure he prob wrote it as i remember reading somewhere that he wrote a lot of the cbeebies songs at the time...

Sazisi quoted it further up the thread.

But how much of a ponce am I? When it got to the line "We've had so much fun today ..." I would always then insert what we had actually done, ie.

"We've had so much fun today ...
we went to Sainsburys then to Tess's house for tea".

or

"we had a big poo on the potty and Mummy was very pleased"

etc

bea · 13/04/2010 20:36

oh no! bibbitybobbityhat !!! that's not the one... it starts with...

Have you brushed your teeth?
Have you washed your face?....

thanks anyway!!!

the search goes on!!!!!

bibbitybobbityhat · 13/04/2010 20:37

Oh dear, I am obviously of different vintage to you ...

Sazisi · 13/04/2010 23:57

Okay, I have somehow managed to find a bit more of it, but not the name of the song, or even all of it I don't think, but here you go anyway:

Have you brushed your teeth, have you washed your face, have you picked up all of your clothes left all over the place, gotta bedtime story, is it one you know. If you got your pyjamas then your ready to go. Singin hey hey are you ready for bed now. Hey hey are you ready for bed

I will ask DD1 tomorrow..she might remember it.

bea · 14/04/2010 08:44

aha!!! sasizi... you good woman...! more of it!!! we're slowly getting there! rhanks!!! I can't believe that there isn't a clip of it on youtube or any mention of it on the web...! surely it's not that old/obscure!?

.......

and i've forgotten the rest except

hey hey are you ready for bed?
hey hey are you ready,
it's time to settle down with the bedtime song
why don't you sing along?

Added a bit more after consultation with the kids last night - it's really bugging me now as well.

ChippyMinton · 14/04/2010 11:04

is it this one?

Rhian82 · 14/04/2010 11:12

I love the 'time has come to say goodnight' one, I sing it to DS as we're changing his nappy for bed and it helps keep him calm.
