Digital programmes disappeared Dorset

Help! Does anyone know if they have done another one of those bloody retuning things - half my programmes have disappeared and I can't get them back by retuning. Have lost the vital ones, too; CBeebies and Channel 5 for Milkshake and ITV3 so that I can watch Poirot!

Could it be this?

We live in the Chilterns and get absolutely crap digital reception, both before and after any retuning thing. And the worst thing is that I've been told, by someone who supposedly knows, that it might not in fact get any better after 2012, only 'they're not supposed to talk about it'.

We were staying in a hotel in Dorset over Easter and got perfect analogue reception of the traditional four channels. So was able to watch the first part of Frost on Sunday but not of course the second part when we returned home. Yes I know that doesn't help when you need CBeebies etc for the DCs but frankly, were it just me, I'd rather go back to that than the crackle and fizz we get on the '57 channels and nothing on'...

I agree; I'd go back to analogue. Sadly, they have sold it to the mobile phone companies. How that helps me .....?

And thak you, Ugly, for the link. Might have to try the number they give.
BTW, I like the juxtaposition of your two names!

My mum gets BBC1 2 3 and 4, channel5, ITV1 and 2, fiver and BBC news 24 on her freeview box, and that's it, nothing else

My Freeview is very temperamental. I gained Channel 5 after Christmas but lost ITV4 and BBC4. CBeebies goes off in bad weather.

In fact, it was all much better before it changed over. I think Channel 5 is a poor exchange for BBC4.

Finally thought of ringing helpline and think that the problem has been solved by 'restoring factory settings' on the 'installation' menu - just in case info is helpful to anyone else.
