Did anyone watch 'Enid' and find it chillingly close to their own parenting...?

Er, no... I watched it and was horrified by how awful she was to her daughters.

Although, if you mean that she had to work all the time, I get that but she was a bit, erm, extreme?

Yes

I had a painful moment, watching the party scene, when I realised that I sometimes interact much more effectively and make much more effort with children at work than with my own dcs.

But, surely, the fact that you're aware enough to recognise this occasional behaviour shows that you're unlikely to turn into a full on "Enid"? Do you think you might be being a little hard on yourselves?
