Am I the only one sobbing her way through DT's demise on BBC3?

I'm in denial about tomorrow.

There won't be another Doctor, will there?

DH won't let me watch it again. He's banned that episode in this house. And Rose/Ten II at Bad Wolf Bay, the end of Donna etc. I dissolve.

I'm half hoping that I'll wake up tomorrow and DT will be reprising the role. It ain't happening is it?

timelordvictorious · 02/04/2010 21:12

I am SOO in denial.

The Ood are singing. I am in proper, Bad Wolf Bay, Marley and Me, pieces.

DH, is asleep.

bumpybecky · 02/04/2010 21:13

'I don't want to go' just tipped me over the edge

timelordvictorious · 02/04/2010 21:14

It physically hurts, it does.

timelordvictorious · 02/04/2010 21:16

Tears.

Many tears.

DH thinks I am such a loser.

I am stubbornly refusing to accept the new Doctor, and boo every time the trailer comes on. Dh reminds me I did this to DT after Christopher Ecclestone left, but this is NOT the same, the new bloke just isn't right.

timelordvictorious · 02/04/2010 21:19

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Gene Hunt might help.

I'm not sure I can bear to watch tomorrow. I'm usually unbearably excited about a new series of DW but this time I just feel a sort of dread. I keep seeing articles where Amy is described as 'sassy' and 'sexy' which I read as 'incredibly annoying'. And Matt Smith gives me the creeps, honestly.

Oh I suppose it will all be ok in the end but it's still not fair! (must remember, it's only telly, must remember it's only telly...)

Fliight · 02/04/2010 21:22

Can't get blooming bbc3 any more

I really dislike the new Dr. He just looks like those floppy haired 6th form gits I fancied when I was 13 till they swore at me during debating society (which I only joined to be near them)

still I must give him a chance I suppose.

BakewellTarts · 02/04/2010 21:22

Hmm sad to see DT go as he was brilliant but come on we could easily lose the last 20 minutes of the episode so self indulgent...my DD1 thought it had already ended and wandered off.

BTW I think Matt Smith will be a fab doctor, he can act and he's quirky. I also love Steven Moffat, every episode he's written has been great and Blink sensational. Can't wait for tomorrow.

VoidofDiscovery · 02/04/2010 21:23

Me too. Sob, sob.. can barely drink my wine.

Fliight · 02/04/2010 21:23

I like Tom Hanks.

Fliight · 02/04/2010 21:24

generally, I mean...I just like him. He would make a good Dr Who. But he'd make a good anything really.

VoidofDiscovery · 02/04/2010 21:25

Though the daleks in army gear look interesting.

Pixel · 02/04/2010 21:30

I started reading something in the paper today (couldn't bear to finish it, I'm so sad ) and they were saying Amy is the first companion who 'challenges' the Doctor and 'doesn't always listen to him'. That's not right surely? I seem to remember Tegan being a bit of a stroppy mare for a start and there must have been others.

timelordvictorious · 02/04/2010 21:31

He will not be the same.

I think DT was MY Dr, and there's no going back.

BakewellTarts · 02/04/2010 21:34

I'm an old fogey and my doctor is Tom Baker...but I have still liked some of the others (CE and DT particularly). My main problem with Matt Smith is that he makes me feel ancient.

bronze · 02/04/2010 21:36

ancient here too bakewell and I'm 29. I need to be able to fancy the doctor I think but I don't I just feel like I'm watching one of my friends children

BakewellTarts · 02/04/2010 21:41

bronze you're definately not ancient!!!

I'm not sure I need to fancy the doctor (I certainly didn't fancy Tom Baker probably saw him as a father figure as I was of course very young and half way behind the sofa) but I do need to believe that he's hundreds of years old. I do think Matt Smith can act so here's hoping he can pull it off.

bronze · 02/04/2010 21:48

sorry meant I know I'm not ancient but he makes me feel that way hes such a baby for a Doctor
true I dont fancy Tom Baker either so maybe I jsut need the Doctor to be older than me

striker · 02/04/2010 23:50

Our local radio presenter said he always thinks he's looking at an episode in the life of the elephant man when he watches Matt Smith-I can't get past that.

Well maybe I might given time...

Goingspare · 02/04/2010 23:56

Matt Smith was very good in Party Animals. Judging by Jonathan Ross last week, he'll not be challenging DT for the nation's hearts via the chat show sofas though.

Give the poor boy a chance.
