Torchwood for Beginners

So DH and I just got and watched the first 2 episodes of Torchwood yesterday. It seemed pretty good; is anyone passionately in love with it? Should I keep watching? Also is there any backstory, like would it have been better to watch Dr. Who first?

We love love love torchwood. It is very good indeed, so watch them all! It does have links with doctor who and the two cross over occasionally but torchwood easily stands alone. The main thing for captain Jack is that because of a run in with daleks in an episode of DW that he cannot die. Enjoy!!

Torchwood is absolutely fvcking brilliant.

Was the episode with the little girl and the 'fairies' in the garden in the first series? That was one of my favourites. Bloomin scary tho!

Yes Capt Jack is rather pretty! I'm looking forward to getting the next disc from Netflix. Wish I knew someone who watched it so we could discuss...good thing I've got mumsnet.

Just wait till you get to Children of Earth, the third series, Gulp. Tis marvellous!!!

torchwood is excellent but really scary and disturbing sometimes (I am a bit of a wuss).

I think maybe dr who is more suitable for me, although I am in my late 30s, not 10

Fairies are fecking scary!

Capt. Jack is pretty of course but I always fancy the odd looking ones so it's all Owen for me.
