so far we have had a teenager who's won a karaoke competition, a pretty boy who has played the lead in his school musical and 5 people who met for the first time 3 weeks ago singing as a steps-a-like band.

The best thing on it by far has been the footage of Bruno Tonioli in a red outfit as a eurovision hopeful in about 1830.

next we get a schoolgirl. Good-o!

no-one watching?

the other 3 acts have been no better. proper car crash TV. Think I might put a bet on UK nil points this year!

it is utterly utterly dreadful

gorionine · 12/03/2010 21:12

I think gemini were better tha anything we heard tonight, that sais it all!

gorionine · 12/03/2010 21:16

Even my spelling is better than tonight's performances! (not exactly true)

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 12/03/2010 21:24

Oh dear God it's just got worse. what the hell is this song, and why is the offspring of Nigel Harman and Chrsitian from EE allowed to butcher it on TV?

sounds like something you would hear at the kids club at Haven.... cheesetastic... pure crap!!

WickedWench · 12/03/2010 21:30

I guess we aren't going to be winning any time soon. Bloody awful!

gorionine · 12/03/2010 21:31

So true, DoNotFeedMeBiscuits, hat is the most appropriate title for that song! NOT!!!!

gorionine · 12/03/2010 21:33

Good for Eurovision though, I already know it by heart .

Monadami · 12/03/2010 21:34

I can't believe the judges said the first girl sounded good. She was as flat as a pancake as far as my ears could tell. Why aren't they telling the truth? Simon Cowell would have told he she wasn't that good.

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 12/03/2010 21:41

Me too, although struggling to sing along due to tears of laughter at Esma making a mistake and saying sorry part way through the song - and then Graham Norton saying that she'd covered it well. hahaha

Anyone think this song is a rip off of "Kids in America"?

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 12/03/2010 21:57

Oh good grief, not again please

OP posts:
DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 12/03/2010 21:58

oh and yes it does Shopingveggie, good observation

WickedWench · 12/03/2010 22:06

Yes Shoppingveggie and DoNotFeedMeBiscuits! I said the same thing to DS!!

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 12/03/2010 22:08

I think there should have been a 'let's not enter as a country and save ourselves the embarrassment' phone option. It would have been kinder to Europe.

I thought it was OK! I mean, it's no "Love Shine A Light", it is a little bit Big Fun, it takes too long to get to the chorus and Josh looks uncomfortable and as if he'd be more at home behind the counter at Thomas Cook telling me how to get a last-minute deal on a weekend in Fuerteventura, but... it's not Jemini.

ClarksPiestoAmmanford · 12/03/2010 22:39

Thank you Shoppingveggie, Kids in America! DH & I were both on sofa humming it 'and going what was that song? it sounds just like it'. It was driving me mad tryng to remember the song!

Didn't see the first bit of the programme, but stumbled upon it just as Esma started and thought it was some awful new talentless show. Glad I'm not the only one who thought the judges were mad to be telling her she was great. She was terrible and I'm astounded she got picked.

UnquietDad · 12/03/2010 22:41

As we all probably remember, Jade didn't do that badly, coming in 5th and then activating the Emergency Sugababe Protocol with the secret ring given to her by The Heidi-tron. It's difficult to see what similar exit strategy Josh will be able to effect... it's not like Boyzone are planning on taking on anyone new.

ClarksPiestoAmmanford · 12/03/2010 22:43

LOL at Unquiet Dad

ClarksPiestoAmmanford · 12/03/2010 22:48

Best bit was Graham Norton's comments on the other countries' entries. You just knew that unfortunate bloke from Switzerland was bound to get an ear-bashing. 'Scuse the pun
