We have just got in and popped the tv on. Gastronauts came on. We havent seen it before but it is all about healthy eating and getting fat etc. Please somebody reassure me that this has been covered better than the little bit I have seen as my dd (skinny little thing) has just come and said to me that she is not eating any mayonnaise or coleslaw or jacket potatoes, or sandwiches as they are 'lard'. I think it is too much and too confusing for such young children. Or am I wrong.

But then as I am sure somebody will point out, I can turn it over and should know what my children are watching!!

Last time I saw Gastronuts they were re-creating the Mona Lisa using chocolate biscuits.

Maybe your DD is a bit young for it yet.

I think you are probably right purpleturtle. Did you see it and think it all right?

Wasn't watching today, I'm afraid. Stuck in front of CBeebies with poorly 3 year old.

When DD and DS1 have watched it - 9 and 7 - it's usually something pretty gross, but has never seemed to influence my DC's thoughts on the food they eat. I don't think it is overly dogmatic vis a vis healthy eating, on the whole. Generally takes a pretty scientific approach.

Oh - I am probably (or definately!) over-reacting then. Sorry and thanks for bothering to reply! Appears nobody else saw it either!!!
