It's such a lovely film. Not very highbrow I admit, but one of the films I've enjoyed most in the past few years and up there in my all time favourites list I reckon....

I've been enjoying the "difficult difficult lemon difficult" line on the trailers

I haven't seen trailers but I saw it in the cinema and laughed so much! I was with a whole load of friends who work in the government

Wonderful film. Hadn't heard of it until I sent DH out for a DVD and he came back waving this and we loved it.

treacletart · 07/03/2010 20:47

Oh it really is very good isn't it? It does stand up very well to repeat viewings too - not an easy trick.
Some pointless trivia: Ditchwater Sal used to be Aveline Boswell in Bread

I love Stardust, I wanted to call dd4 Evangeline in homage but dp vetoed it, so instead we shall have Take Thats, Rule The World as our first dance when we eventually get hitched

TrillianAstra · 07/03/2010 20:56

AIBU to think that (young) Dad is far more attractive than Tristan?

And that Siena Miller is a bit blah?

(I'm 1/2 hr behind, watching on a borrowed DVD, but your thread inspired me)

southeastastra · 07/03/2010 20:58

is sienna in it? she pisses me right off

TrillianAstra · 07/03/2010 21:04

Only as a random bitch girl at the beginning - presumably the prettiest girl in the village, but it is a rather backwards village.

treacletart · 07/03/2010 21:10

Thought she seemed perfectly cast as Victoria actually.

Booh DH has turned over to watch stuff about planets!

The dad is quite hot. Didn't he play that posh detective in a TV series? The one with Sharon Small as his assistant?

cyteen · 07/03/2010 22:28

I watched this and was very happy to find that the film is much, much better than the book. Really enjoyed it, Ricky Gervais aside.

Snorbs · 07/03/2010 23:29

I think Stardust is great, not least because of Claire Danes and Kate Magowan...
