becky in coronation st and shirley in eastenders!

ok, firstly i do realise it's not REAL!

but...who would fall in love with these women? they are horrible! Becky is a selfish little kid, she's awful to steve.

Shirley is the most miserable, stone faced, hard woman I've ever seen...seriously she doesn't appear to have one redeeming feature

I feel a bit like this over Roseanne as well in that American Show...just an awful character - why would anyone fall in love with her?

Aw, Becky is vile from what I remember but Shirley isn't. She's very loyal to Heather remember.

Roseanne (my God, this is going back!) was great, the way she used to talk to the kids but at the same time they all knew how loved they were and they were such a close family.

Loved Roseanne too, brilliant humour, said of her daughter "am only growing her in case I need organ transplant when I'm older"

They all have a softer vulnerable side though. The hard exterior is a cover.

Strange moment of thinking this thread would reveal Shirley was Becky's biological mother. Then I realised I have been reading too many Eastenders "How are they related?" threads.
