and is it just me or is the audience the most ineffectual, inarticulate bunch this evening

wastwinsetandpearls · 04/03/2010 23:36

They are not great tonight assume

Portofino · 04/03/2010 23:36

I think I am watching a different programme too!

Slartybartfast · 04/03/2010 23:38

david dimbleby was relieved that was over.

OP posts:
DuelingFanjo · 04/03/2010 23:39

so what was she talking about?

wastwinsetandpearls · 04/03/2010 23:42

I have been sat here for 5 minutes waiting for Boris to make a point.

wook · 04/03/2010 23:45

Surely Carol Vorderman was pissed?

KurriKurri · 04/03/2010 23:45

I've always found Carol Vorderman intensely annoying, so it was quite comforting to find we are politically worlds apart. I would have hated to have had to agree with her over anything.

Boris's lovable buffoon act is wearing a bit thin now - time for a new gimmick I'd say.

JennyMixer · 05/03/2010 08:57

Carol Vordeman was an embarrassment

southeastastra · 05/03/2010 09:03

question time is one of the most pompous arsed programmes on tv. gave up watching after the bnp show.

MotherofOne · 05/03/2010 09:35

Thought Carol looked pissed too - kept looking down all the time, ranting on and on, getting louder and louder.

Boris is a blustering old thing, but part of it is 'cover' and his media persona. Is actually hugely bright and sharp and articulate.

Don't like Will Self (aptly named ]?) but agree he was very good and calm, rational & sensible. Suspect his comment about JB's murderers may have raised a few eyebrows with some, but it's a very valid point...

ouryve · 05/03/2010 18:55

Who'd'a'thunk this thread would make it into the Daily Mail
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1255785/Proof-Countdown-Question-Time-dont-add-Carole- Vorderman-branded-worst-panel-member.html

tattycoram · 05/03/2010 18:59

I had to fast forward Carol Vordeman, she was dreadful. Will Self vg, but he didnt really hide his disdain for most of the people in the room did he

kerstina · 05/03/2010 19:27

I agree that Carol Vordeman did not come across well at all.
I really found myself disliking her and her right winged bigotry.
Can't accuse Labour of putting their most photogenic on the panel ! Lord Adonis i don't think so ...

assumetheposition · 06/03/2010 09:03

I can't get the Daily Mail page to load! Boooo

ouryve · 06/03/2010 14:17

It disappeared form google about 10 minutes after I posted the link. They must have done a bit more reading about people's opinions of her - and of them!

DuelingFanjo · 06/03/2010 16:06

I think the article has been reproduced here

DuelingFanjo · 06/03/2010 16:08

and here on twitter

Spidermama · 06/03/2010 16:09

I was going to write exactly this thread.

Off to read the Twitter comments now.

Spidermama · 06/03/2010 16:12

I found myself wondering - hoping really - that Carol Vordeman made people wary of voting Tory with her embarrassing, over confident, fairly dim performance on Question Time. Very well done to the man in the audience who outed her as a Tory advisor. I think I love him and I love the woman who told Boris he should stop waffling and admit he has no idea what he's talking about.

giveitago · 06/03/2010 19:03

Think carol was trying to be clever and political - that's why she had her head down - reading from her copious notes.

Thought will self was an arsehold to the person who asked about JB's murderer being sent back to prison - was going about being sent back for tiny things and that would the audience be sent back to prison for a parking offence - erm no - not unless they'd just come out of prison. Now it turns out that the reason the young man was sent back could be for something quite serious. A bit too self satisfied that bloke.

Spidermama · 06/03/2010 22:20

I thought he was spot on.

noddyholder · 06/03/2010 22:31

One of will selfs finest performances on QT He can be hit and miss depending on what condition he is in I love him Met him once and charismatic and actually v attractive.Carol vorderman made a real fool of herself WSspoke the only sense I have seen on the James Bulger case in the last week.

Spidermama · 07/03/2010 00:42

Totally agree with you Noddy.

grumpypants · 07/03/2010 10:55

I've just looked this thread up! CV was so dreadful I had to watch through my hands! WS was spot on, but not fair to put audience on the spot. Far too many teenage types - what was going on there?
