I haven't watched Corrie for years but I think I will just have to watch this storyline. I have had 2 miscarriages recently, one back in September last year and one just 3 weeks ago. Some of you might think it strange that I want to watch it, but I just want to see how they handle it to be honest. It's an awful experience, much worse than I ever imagined it could be. If they manage to make people understand how upsetting it actually is, then I will be impressed.

I believe she gets pregnant again quite soon and all goes well

Hope it helps watching.

I think Becky loses the next baby too and her and Steve go on to adopt.

Ledodgy · 02/03/2010 09:44

Can you adopt with a criminal record? Becky's been in prison hasn't she?

mynameis · 02/03/2010 09:48

I understand they were potraying her way of dealing with things but I hope they show or mention Becky having a follow up at the hospital.

pranma · 02/03/2010 14:46

I definitely read that she carries the next one to term and has a healthy baby.

wintera, they did a mc story plot on eastenders recently and it was cringingly BAAAD, really really bad, i dont think that they did any research into it at all.
I hope that corrie do a better job.

I watched this last night and I was just wondering if the way they portrayed it was anything like anyone has experienced?

I haven't suffered a miscarriage myself, but as a teenager I had a termination at 7 weeks, and I honestly felt like I had been hit by a bus.

A friend of mine also recently had a mc and she was beside herself and also lost a lot of blood.

I just found it strange that Becky was all over Steve with her legs round him saying that they should go and try for another one straight away - surely she would still be bleeding pretty heavily?

kingprawntikka · 02/03/2010 15:34

The adoption story is on the Digital spy pages.

knowmyrights · 02/03/2010 16:10

In fairness TheChic I think she was drunk and in denial. I've had a mc (and a stillbirth come to that) - and I do remember with the mc my hormones were all over the place for weeks if not months (never mind the emotional side of things). I certainly believed some pretty daft things at the time (like I'd never be a mum, and I was being punished) so I thought they handled it well so far.

TheChicOfIt · 02/03/2010 17:01

So sorry to hear that knowmyrights .

I suppose it is tailored to the character of Becky, and the way that she would deal with it.

wintera · 03/03/2010 10:13

I watched both episodes yesterday and thought it was a load of absolute tosh. How did Eastenders handle it then? Because if it was worse than Corrie it must have been bad!
