Wasn't it great last night without Robert and the Mrs

Was mildly better last week too, when he was laid up in bed!

Minnie is becoming my favourite person - she was really funny last night. I would of eaten the goose too

I loved Thomas buying his wife the underwear
Gorgeous box with 'lingerie' on the lid and it turned out to be (censored in case of spoilers)

BendyBob · 01/03/2010 13:32

Has Ruby supposedly gone off to get married?
Or to live with her gentleman friend?

She just went; no mention of weddings.

BackstreetsOfNaples · 01/03/2010 13:43

I wondered that Bendy - very . I suppose it leaves it more open for her to come back off maternity leave full of woes.

BendyBob · 01/03/2010 14:17

Yes, good lord in those days a laydeee didn't go off galavanting with gentlemen. The very thought!

Hopefully she'll be back though. Miss Pearl doesn't look the same without Miss Ruby.

diddl · 01/03/2010 17:35

I actually quite enjoyed last night.

i must be a snob who prefers it without Larkrise

BendyBob · 01/03/2010 17:45

Yes me too. Maybe they should make one just called 'Candleford' for those of us who prefer the finer things in life.

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2010 18:02

I like it without the Timmins family in it, including Laura and her Dull Relationship with JournoBoy. They need to land a plane on LarkRise. Or, you know, the equivalent.

I love Dorcas. She's fab.

BackstreetsOfNaples · 01/03/2010 18:10

Awww - love Alf though.

BendyBob · 01/03/2010 18:15

Yes Alf's ok but what about Twister?

satc2bringiton · 01/03/2010 18:33

Yeah I much prefer the 'candleford' folk, only like queenie and alf over from the 'rough' side

OP posts:
PortBlacksand · 01/03/2010 18:43

oh yes love Queenie and her WitchyWoo ways.

Comfy · 01/03/2010 18:47

Ah yes it was better without the tedious philosophying of Robert Timmins but I do like Twister and Queenie.
Minnie is my favourite though.
Is it me or were there some homosexual hints in Pearl's little friendship?

PortBlacksand · 01/03/2010 18:57

Comfy - DH turned to me and said "ai ai"...i told him he sounded very retro.

PortBlacksand · 01/03/2010 19:00

70s rather than 1890s though...

bea · 01/03/2010 20:31

ooohhhh!!! I Love the timmins....! i think robert timmins is lovely so passionate about injustices... agree he can go on about his pride a little too much... but in the end his heart is in the right place!

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2010 20:37

I was waiting for Pearl and her little friend to lean in over some taffeta silks. Distinct chemistry.

Queenie's great, she's such a village elder. Alf is similarly great and Minnie's a hoot.

Next week looks Timmins heavy with Em going back to work. V modern.

bambipie · 02/03/2010 08:53

I enjoyed the timmins free episode too. Mr Timmins is so dreary and i find Mrs Timmins' neck disconcertingly long. I like Twister, Alf and Queenie, maybe they could move to Candleford. Laura's young man is rather nice to look at though.
Definately some 'tension' between trouser lady and Pearl, imagine the and probably in Candleford. I excpect everyone would just and though.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 02/03/2010 17:03

I was hoping Pearl and Mrs Guest Appearance would go for it -- I like Pearl (not entirely sure why but I do!) and feel she deserves some affection in her life. Ah well.

The damn Timminses can stay away for the rest of the series if they like, fine with me. Used to not mind 'em but there has been Passionate Pride Overkill in recent weeks.
