Just been watching two of the child migrants on This morning - am now crying my eyes out. Such a lovely couple of people and so sad.

Yes especially when the old chap got so choked up about his mother that his stammer made it impossible for him to speak. And now I'm crying again thinking about it and my dd is looking at me like

I was sobbing when Holly moved over to sit beside the old man and hold his hand.

I had started watching the interview and to my shame I thought why is Gordon Brown apologising now...what difference does it make after all these years? Surely the government of the day cannot be held responsible for something that happened decades ago before most of us were even born.

However when that old man started to cry and couldn't talk as a result of injuries sustained whilst in the 'care' of 'us' the british people I realised just how much it mattered then and now for someone to take responsability and say we are sorry for what you suffered.

An excellent interview by Phil and Holly.

I loved the way he said british people were the best and talked about how nice GB had been to them. A real insight you don't get with all this othr political back stabbing/.

Oh I cried too, and even more when Holly's voice started to falter and she moved over to sit with the man. I thought that was a real lovely human touch but I lurve Holly anyway, This Morning so much better with her than Fern.

Agree it was a very good interviw as usual with Holly and Phil
