What is the story with Nick Jordan and Holby?

I remember Nick Jordan used to be in Holby but can't remember why he left / how he left - obviously under a black cloud as Ric wasn't too happy to see him.

He's only back in Holby as Charlie was taken up to Darwin to have an op so Nick went with him. So he's still in Casualty really. He wasn't in Holby last night (none of them were) as it was all about Connie in her new job and Penny being in love with Scott.

I was wondering why everyone hated him as well.

Wasn't it some sort of incompetence that meant if he stayed, the hospital's good name would be compromised? Something like that.

Didn't he go off to die after being diagnosed with an inoperable, terminal brain tumour?
Or did I dream that??

He did but then he came back to have it operated on and it was a success. So now they've reinstated him as lead in ER but he's not allowed to do most of the procedures I think - just direct.
