She is just appalling

Why is she given air time?

what did she say?

deloola · 16/02/2010 10:48

Effectively saying that women shouldn't get so drunk as to be 'out of control'.

She's still on there.

She used the classic line of 'I'm not saying that women deserve to be raped, however...'

She is shocking A complete traitor to her sex You are right she shouldn't be allowed on air.

cornsilk · 16/02/2010 10:51

she's a disgrace

Hollyoaks · 16/02/2010 10:55

If a man is drunk but still capable enough to get it up surely he can distinguish when the woman is saying no. How can she place all the emphasis on women, men have a responsibility to act appropriately and stop.

I can't believe her, she talked over the other woman at every opportunity.

Where was the other woman from? I didn't see the beginning. Agree Carole just talked over her.

How many young men go out at the weekends, get blind drunk, meet new mates, wake in in strange houses?
Even take their shirts off in clubs. Moon people in the streets.

Can you imagine men being of the opinion that this sort of behaviour made them partly responsible if they were raped.

Hollyoaks · 16/02/2010 11:01

Not sure exactly where she was from, but some sort of support agency for women who have been raped.

BitOfFun · 16/02/2010 11:08

I can't say I care what her opinion is on this issue- but I don't understand why she pops up so often on tv. The woman is clearly a halfwit with the voice of a foghorn. She doesn't represent anyone, but tv execs are obviously seeing "feisty and opinionated", where ordinary humans are getting more of a "loud and obnoxious" vibe...

She writes a column for NOTW. It's hardly surprising that her views are aligned with a rag that is innately misogynistic in it's standpoint.

I'm not surprised that she's happy to apportion blame towards women who have been raped. That's what happens when women who think they are feminists actually end up shooting themselves in the foot because they don't actually understand what it means.

No, women shouldn't drink to much. But for the same reason men shouldn't (health), not because they make themselves less able to fend off 'advances' from men. It goes along with the locker room 'advice' that you must get a girl to have a drink or two to make her more "pliable/easy".

I would be even less surprised to find that Carol Malone had indeed been a victim of rape whilst inebriated and blames herself, and by default, other women who have been through the same.

It's quite sad, really.
