Why has Dot been arrested in EastEnders?

I am watching Friday's episode but have missed the beginning.

She smacked Dotty and she repoerted her.

Oh right.

Dotty is a vile character.

I can't stand Dotty. Pointless character IMO

although what she did was not illegal if she was a parent, because Dot is not actualkly her parent when the complaint was made the police will have followed it up.

in reality they would have sent a uniform around when they had little else to do. it wouldn't have been a full pulling out of a birthday bash like it was shown on EE.

once the police realise that Dot is caring for Dotty in a parenting role the charges will be dropped.

Dot is looking after a child? Isn't she about 100 by now? And a heavy smoker/ And has a dog???

Apparently she is 70 in the show but I think she is in her 80's in real life.
