Can't wait for this. Absolute required viewing for DP too.

Love the trailers 'I'm not ready! I haven't washed the cot blankets!'

Bumperlicious · 04/02/2010 20:35

I loved the trailer where she said she wasn't ready. Reminds me of when I was in labour with my 4th, I was in transition and kept telling the 2 midwives that he wasn't going to be born naturally as he wouldn't fit! I was having a home birth and miles away from the hospital, he was born 10 minutes later!

I love programmes like this! There's a mum giving birth to her 4th baby who has a husband we'll all going to have an opinion on.

Used to watch Birth Stories and the Portland and medical programmes that make dh pale, although I did wince at watching manky toenails being removed on 'Embarrassing Bodies' last week.

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/02/2010 19:16

omg heated I watched Embarrasing Bodies last week too and I had to turn away when they removed her toenails it really turned my stomach and usually things like that dont bother me

wonder if they'll be showing the episiotomies, tearing, botched stitching, lack of breastfeeding support.

WorzselMummage · 07/02/2010 11:02

In don't know if I should watch it I know it'll only make me broooooooody !

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/02/2010 11:04

whenever I watch birthing stories on tv the midwives are always so attentive and the mother is never left on her own and she gets everything she could poss need.

Makes me wonder if they are only being like that cos the cameras are there.
Maybe thats the reason the women agreed to be filmed during birth because they know they wont be left alone as the hosp doent want to look bad on national tv.

You're not wrong Desperatehousewife21...

shewhoneverdusts · 15/02/2010 18:00

That's where my dd's made their first appearance in the world, although not on tv!!
I ended up working there years later too. I actually think it's not to bad a place, the staff are really nice.
