So, tell me what I should be watching

We just moved to Switzerland, which means i am no longer plugged into the watercooler chat and i no longer read papers and chat to people everyday. However, we have all the UK channels and that convenient tv recording thingie.

What should i be recording???/ People are talking about MadMen a lot on here, is it worth to start watching it now or is it too late? Any other new series????? is True Blood finished?

Nurse Jackie is fantastic. Funny and dark with the incredible Edie Falco as title character.

And yes Peter Facinelli is in it.

I would also recommend The Good Wife.

Mad Men and True Blood are both great but I wouldn't recommend starting at the later series'.

For the best tv of all time get The Sopranos and The Wire on box set. The Sopranos has never and will never be rivalled as the best television show of all time.

i am watching the wire right now, i am on season 4. have been toying with the idea of getting a sopranos boxset once that's over, but i am not sure anything can top the Wire i loooove it.

Oh believe me. It does. I love The Wire. I think it's amazing but it isn't a patch on The Sopranos.

DP and I have just finished the entire 6 seasons and this morning I found myself with a brew watching the pilot again.

Why people watch shite like Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy baffles me.

Mystic, I loved the Wire and now am watching the Sopranos (missed it first time around somehow). They are different but similar iysim. I would say The Wire is of a higher standard overall but The Sopranos is great when you don't want 100% gritty realism. ie has more lighter moments.

We're watching the series 1 box set of Battlestar Galactica at the moment, it's fantastic. You need to watch the separate introductory miniseries though, before embarking on the series proper, otherwise it will make much less sense.

what is glee, never heard of it

Glee is an American comedy/musical show set in a high school.

Everyone is raving about it and it is good fun but it's nowhere near as hilarious and satirical as people claim.

Being Human - on BBC 3 or 4. It's the one with the Vampire, Wearwolf and Ghosts sharing a house in Bristol. New series - number 2 - is a bit grusome in places but I love it. It is my current top guilty pleasure .

If you can find it, check out Misfits - an E4 show that was actually good It's a 6-parter about a group of kids whose community service is livened up when they all develop special powers during a freak electrical storm. Really funny, touching, and the soundtrack was fantastic.

It's just fucking brilliant.

DP and I were knackered last night and agreed to just watch one episode and then go to bed.

We watched 4 episodes and both laughed fanta out of our noses and both sobbed like children.

oh god i believe i am utterly hooked. on epi 3 and i love Jackie, i want her to be my best friend. I have a girl crush on the brit-bitch doctor. and Dr Cullen Cooper? I can tell that's gonna keep me coming back for more...
