Anyone been to see this? Should I take my Lola-loving 2-year-old?

Is that the one with the puppets? I haven't been, because it hasn't been 'to a theatre near me,' but I would love to.

Sorry - that was no help at all.

I went to see it with DD. It was ok - voice recordings from the tv show (so we knew all the stories: at one point DD turned round and hissed loudly 'wake up Mummy'). DD loved it - there are some paper butterflies released from the ceiling at one point, also bubbles at another.

The set is used well, my only quibble was that although the puppeteers were fab, they still had to follow set recordings. It was strange to not really hear much of their own voices. They are not hidden at all and were bubbly, energetic and had very expressive faces! They actually made it more fun than just the puppets would have been.

The last story they used is the bedtime story with the ogre. DD switches it off on the tv as it scares her, so we had an extended toilet trip and came back for the applause at the end!

It was full of little Lola look-a-likes, and had a fantastic programme (to buy) with lots of colouring and things to do.

The Lola look-a-likes were all the girls in the audience, btw, not in the show!

yes, I've been. I also agree it was slightly weird that no attempt to hide the puppeteers was made. If you're a puppeteer I believe you have made the choice to take the credit anonymously so shouldn't expect to have centre stage
Tip for you - make sure you are sitting in the middle so your dcs are under the butterflies when they are released. We were at the back as it was packed in the middle (other parents must have had a tip off) and so missed out on having them flutter on us and dcs were a bit gutted about that
It's ok, we got free tickets so was ok but personally didn't rate it that much and apart from the excitement of hoping there would be another butterfly release (there wasn't) the dcs weren't too keen either.

I felt it would have been nice to get a new story. And we didn't get a butterfly either.
