Name this old Children's TV programme...

Was a literacy programme, set i think, i a library. There was a floating white thing with the alphabet all over it, and it had arms/hands, would float around the bookshop getting the kids to do thing literacy related.

There was also a 'game' with a white (i think) pencil and a light on the end, that would trace a letter over and over and over on a blackboard.

What was it called?

Words and Pictures,- the "thing" is called Wordy.

Oh it was when I was a wee girl, it was in the day time so i must have been about 4? (i am presuming, or else it was on at around 4pm? So, that would have been around early 1980s?

THATS IT! Wordy! That was him!

Ah well, I am waaaaayyy too old to have remembered that.

We didn't have tv at home growing up, so tv at school was a really big deal for me.
