Sky not working - snow ?

Says "Signal not being received" , but when I check strength it is at about 75%. I assumed there might be snow or ice on the dish but we did have some sun earlier and it didn't come back

we had this momentarily a couple of days ago, I went out the room and when I came back it was on as normal. hope yours come back on for you

Can you go and bang the dish with a brush or something

Prob due to snow.
Ours wouldn't work yesterday for a bit.
Then it magically started working again later, I guess snow must have got heavy and then fell off!?

Unplug everything, leave it 10 minutes then plug it all in again. it works sometimes. My dh brushed snow off our dish when this happened to us the other day.

Ditto DH had to go out several times to brush the snow off the dish.

DH was suffering from cricket withdrawal and attacked... sorry that should have read... tapped lightly with a broom handle to clear the snow and ice. Working fine now.

Yep DH out with my feather duster fixed ours!

threw snowballs at ours to remove the snow from the dish - done this several times over the last few days - worked everytime

I read that as "meatballs"

I was very confused

Dish is on the apex of the roof so not very accessible - maybe it will just melt, if it ever gets above freezing of course ....

Just been out for a look and the dish is pretty much covered from the lmb down - might just be the problem!!

I think there must have been quite a few problems as a man from Sky rang me up to ask if our box was working properly.

It was very nice of them to be concerned, but we don't actually have one .

ah it's back , snow must have slid down just enough . Question is, do we tell dh - he was annoyed he'd miss so much on Eurosport this weekend without it ...

Dilemma solved - signal not strong enough for likes fo Eurosport !

Ours has been off a lot this week, no signal. Dish is on chimney, so no way of clearing it, we just had to sit it out. Very annoying though, we can't get Freeview and our terrestrial reception is not brilliant either.
