Oh! I thought it was lovely... soo comfy and warming to watch and blubbed my eyes out when jem and tilly left Mis Matty and then blubbled my eyes out when they returned... only just watched it on BBc Four have no idea if it was a christmas repeat or new on... completely all over the place with my christmas viewing... so forgive me if it was on about 2 weeks ago and all has been discussed... but just had to say it was lovely!!!

I thought it was the best thing on over Christmas, even my DH enjoyed it! Have either of you read any of the books? I was wondering whether to try them, but I think I saw on a programme about the making of the series that they were a combination of several books and that there were some 'made up' characters. I loved it so much that I didn't want the books to spoil the programme! I have kept them to watch again while I am doing my ironing mountain this p.m!

Also love Larkrise and looking forward to it.

Not read the book but i have heard similar things too! i.e the book is nothing like the prog. I love it though... like i said the bit where tilly appeared was just sooooo lovely and satisfying!!! and Hooray for Harry... the bit with the cow almost had me in tears too!!!(septamus! You bad bad man ....!!!) Captain Carter! we miss you!!!! and i love you Miss Matty!!!! So sensible and lovely! Sigh! I could go on and on!

Just watched this today - what a wonderful programme it was.

luckyblackcat · 11/01/2010 18:33

girls please help me...

missed the first one and then downloaded it to iplayer, didn't get around to watching it and now gone.

I have #2 on sky+, anyone know if it will be on beeb3 or 4 anytime?

LaurieFairyCake · 11/01/2010 18:34

I watched it too and loved it. Really good acting and stories and gave a real sense of village life at the time.

I did not agree with one review which said nothing happened in Cranford (hello!!!!! the railway came)and it was just a load of the elderly hanging about disapproving of the young - twat
