I thought it was really funny - best thing on TV yesterday.

OP posts:
cornysxmasmuffmusic · 26/12/2009 10:18

I watched about 5 mins - thought it was awful.

MrsMorgan · 26/12/2009 10:19

I liked it, thought it was loads better than last years.

ProfYaffle · 26/12/2009 10:21

I thought it was better than last year's but still pretty poor and nowhere near as good as it used to be.

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 26/12/2009 10:22

I thought it was awful - just crude, not funny. and not clever.
disappointing.

GypsyMoth · 26/12/2009 10:23

looked forward to it,but very disapointing

Silly toilet humour aside, I thought it had some clever observations on comfort zones, expectations and relationships.

spudmasher · 26/12/2009 10:32

My daughter had eggy bread for breakfast.

Meglet · 26/12/2009 10:58

I didn't enjoy it, it's too grim these days.

I'm only looking forward to Outnumbered this year.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 26/12/2009 11:11

thought it was ok, but could have been reduced to half an hour, rather than an hour

too much "filler", I nearly fell asleep at one point

Gavin and Stacey was better, but a bit strange to have a midsummer day at the beach episode on Xmas Day

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 26/12/2009 12:26

Outnumbered is ace!

Lulumama · 26/12/2009 12:27

it was ok, only ok.... started well and then descended into banality without the biting wit

sickofsocalledexperts · 26/12/2009 14:34

I thought it was better than last year's, but still way less subtle in its humour than it used to be. It used to be so closely observed and come all from the character, now they've got a bit carried away and slapsticky. Still, one of the best things on Xmas TV, though Gavin and Stacey was number one in my book.

purepurple · 26/12/2009 14:37

I enjoyed it too.
I loved the comment about adopting caramel children to match the sofa.
And the comments about never stopping being a mum.
'I's not about the golden egg cup'

VeronicaMars · 26/12/2009 14:37

I agree. thought it was only ok. Love love love Gavin & Stacey.

sheepgomeep · 26/12/2009 15:52

thought it was pants very dissapointed turned it over after 10 minutes

kerstina · 26/12/2009 20:11

Thought it was as brilliant as usual best thing on this christmas.
So many funny bits driving round the round about at the caravan park because the sat nav told them to !
saying they had not given the golden egg cup a second thought when they had talked endlessly about it !
going home the next day because there was no chip pan or telly in the caravan!

NonnoMum · 26/12/2009 20:25

Thought the bits about the Twiggy's Thai wife were pretty offensive really.

DarrellRivers · 26/12/2009 20:36

crude
turned over

average.

got bored, left the room just after they got to the caravan.

kittya · 26/12/2009 21:44

Its time to knock it on the head. I hated it and turned over when Jim started having a crap with the toilet door open. I mean, people do not do that, not even scummy people. It used to be clever now its just childish. I dont like Gavin and Stacy particularly but thought it was a hundred times better.

merrycompo · 26/12/2009 21:46

Oh yes the toilet humour is too much for me

laughed more at ant and dec sing off with robbie
and the Xmas food fight on my family was hilarious

BigBadMummy · 26/12/2009 21:47

If you are going to piss yourself, John Lewis it the place to do it.

I did think the programme was a bit contrived and not as "natural" as it used to be.

kittya · 26/12/2009 21:53

50 years married? how old is Denise supposed to be? It was taking the piss out of people that even like that, if that makes sense. I think she has lost the plot.
