how can Archie move in / change the door name etc when he hasn't actually evicted the Mitchells?

There are rules, laws even... why can't the script writers do their homework?

but how has he got ownership? I don't get it... I mean, the council tried to evict me - they gave me notice of court, then a month til court etc in which time I sorted it out... it just doesn't happen over night!

I think maybe the sign thing isn't legal, just part of Archie's evil plan to upset the Mitchells and prove that faaaaam'ly isn't everything Peggy makes it out to be. I suspect he just phoned some sign people, got his sign made and told them they'd better bloomin' well put it up by the end of the day, knowing that Peggy and the faaaaam'ly wouldn't do anything to stop him (except maybe batter him to death on Christmas day) I don't acutally think he has gone through any due process, but is just doing what he likes as he known Peggy will be intimidated by him. In a similar fashion, I could put a sign with MY name on it above my local. Except they wouldn't take me seriously, and (hopefully) wouldn't feel the need to batter me to death.

But seriously, if they went through all the proper and right motions of change of ownership, it'd make it v. v. boring for the view, wouldn't it. It needs to be here and now and not in real time.

Maybe they'll bump him off and bury the body. Cellar of the Vic the first place the plods will look. Suggest the centre of the square, no one will think burying a body there.

owens body was buried in the handy hole that just so happened to appear in the square just in time for the murder. the tree for trina (his first wife) was planted on top.

I don't know why the just didn't grab the piece of paper (Ian's loan sale) off Archie while he was waving it around, and just rip it up.

But that would ruin their whole Archie Murdered plotline I suppose.

whispers actually, the name above the door is the name of the desginated premises supervisor for the pub.... ie who holds the main alcohol licence nothing to do with who owns the building
