the F word - am I thick?

How come, the starters and desserts are out of 25 but the mains are out of 50?

Am I being very thick? or do they offer everyone both mains?

or what?

many thanks

Thank God I'm not the only one who doesn't get this

blametheparents · 22/12/2009 22:08

I have always assumed that everyone gets both main courses

LowLevelBahHumbug · 22/12/2009 22:10

that's ridiculous. why would they do that?

overcatering!

Have always vaguely wondered this myself. Sure it's probably been explained, but I must have missed it.

LowLevelBahHumbug · 22/12/2009 22:27

I'm pretty sure I've watched all of it. Maybe I chatted for a moment when it was explained.

Must learn not to chat when the telly is on.

We noticed this too. I assumed that the punters get two courses - a main and either starter or dessert.

5Foot5 · 27/12/2009 13:01

I guess they get both for the mains to make it fair?

Or maybe it is also to make the maths a bit simpler. If they did 25 for each course then it would be marks out of 75 not 100 and people somehow find it easier to process marks out of 100.

SleighBelleDameSansMerci · 27/12/2009 13:13

I assume it's so it's marks out of 100?
