DH & I are pissing ourselves watching him on Buzzcocks (BBC2, now!)

We've decided we want him to be our Grandad.

I am a huge fan of Bernard Cribbins, ever since I first came across him in The Railway Children.
The man can do no wrong - how he has such a presence spanning so many years is quite frankly incredible. Long Live Bernard Cribbins.

JackTheHallsWithBauersOfHolly · 22/12/2009 22:16

Oh god that episode is seriously hysterical!

SevenSaltiresSwimming · 22/12/2009 22:19

Me too - I just said to DS2 the otehr day how much I love Bernard cribbins. Of course, he's getting a whole new fan base with Dr Who isn't he?

Flame · 22/12/2009 22:25

I said the same!

ScottishBoris · 22/12/2009 22:28

I've loved BC since he did the voices on Storyteller cassettes (please tell me someone else remembers these - weekly, I think, magazine with a casette which narrated all of the stories in the magazine).

TeamEdwardsSparklyBaubles · 22/12/2009 22:33

Love this but before my time really.

Can I just say a HUGE thank you for starting this thread?

Growing up we used to listen to lots of story cassettes, normally in bed at night. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to find stories to put on an MP3 player for DD1 for Christmas. Because of this thread she will have storyteller

FoJo · 23/12/2009 07:44

Thank you so much for the link to 'right said fred' TeamEdwards, looking forward to showing it to my dc's. He did another really funny one about diggin a hole, which was meant to be round when they were digging it square (!!) - I think!
A great man and a really funny episode!

ScottishBoris · 23/12/2009 08:02

Me too Flame, was searching ebay last night for Gobbolino books for dd1. I even found the stories I couldn't remember the name of on Wiki - Timbetwig anyone?

SleighBelleDameSansMerci · 23/12/2009 08:03

I was going to mention the Annabel's Raven books too - I loved those. And I still like crows and ravens as a result.

BC is fab.

JollyPirate · 23/12/2009 08:17

Bernard Cribbens is a long favourite of mine ever since he read Arabella's Raven on Jackanory when I was a child. Brilliant man - wish I'd seen him on Buzzcocks - might have to get iPlayer going.

TeamEdwardsSparklyBaubles · 23/12/2009 08:53

He was hilarious.
iPlayer link (hopefully!)

TeamEdwardsSparklyBaubles · 23/12/2009 09:12
