Noooooooooooooooooo, I love it.

serajen · 22/12/2009 13:27

Please please please, can't bear the egos of the presenters, only problem is it's constant repeats on another channel, think it's Dave

hohoholepew · 22/12/2009 13:28

It better not be, it's the funniest thing on the beeb.

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 22/12/2009 13:29

I hope not too

thedogsgottago · 22/12/2009 13:30

haha I hate all 3 of them....but must admit the episode where they drove through some southern american states was quite funny. Generally though its poo!

Not a chance, too many v loyal fans!

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 22/12/2009 13:32

not according to this

one of BBC2's highest rated shows (apparently)

belgo · 22/12/2009 13:32

No it won't be, not only is it popular in the UK but it gets sold to other countries and makes money for the BBC.

thedogsgottago · 22/12/2009 13:35

uk.tv.yahoo.com/blog/article/386537/

Funny how the same interview can lead to 2 different aricles

OP posts:
StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 22/12/2009 13:37

I doubt it, the show is the BBCs top money earner by selling it to other countries.

thelunar66 · 22/12/2009 13:39

I hope they don't axe it... its the only time DH and DS ever do any male bonding.

NeedaNewName · 22/12/2009 13:40

Doubt it very much, watched and loved by too many.

Question though OP, why would you be so happy? Are you forced to watch it? Does somebody make you sit there and watch it? Can you do nothing else at that time?

Its not like the X Factor or similar where you can;t escape it, its in all the papers and even makes the bloody news.

You have a choice, you don;t like it, don't watch it - simples

thedogsgottago · 22/12/2009 18:00

Yes Im chained to the sofa forced to watch it with matchsticks propping my eyelids open!
I just think clarksons a knob and shouldnt be on the telly!

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee · 22/12/2009 18:01

i used to hate this but enforced wathing from dh i actually enjoy it more than he does...

tulpe · 22/12/2009 19:31

I hope this is true. I absolutely loathe the presenters. They are so full of themselves and their alleged "witticisms" are so unfunny. They are like smug 6th Form clever arses who never grew up.

DH will be gutted though.

SleighBelleDameSansMerci · 22/12/2009 19:35

Oh I love Top Gear. I just don't take any of the presenters seriously. Although (name drop, name drop) I was once presented with an award by Richard Hammond and he is GORGEOUS in RL. Small but perfectly formed!

PoppyIsApain · 22/12/2009 19:37

Bloody hell no, what about my Richard Hammond

DunderMifflin · 22/12/2009 19:47

tulpe - I couldn't agree more! You expressed my sentiments perfectly.

Clarkson, for example, is a twat.

tulpe · 22/12/2009 20:16

Dundermuffin

Richard Hammond, for example, is an uber twat.

James May, for example, is King of The Twats.

I imagine they are the kind to recite endless Pythonisms too (not that I am knocking Monty Python - am a huge fan - just not when recited ad nauseum by bunch of twatty blokes )

sockmonkey · 22/12/2009 20:16

Massive Top Gear fans at our house. Can't see them cancelling it, just messing with the format a bit.

PoppyIsApain · 22/12/2009 21:20

tulpe nooooo Richard Hammond is lovely

tulpe · 22/12/2009 21:53

nooo, Poppy - Richard Hammond looks like Maureen Lipman!!

christmaseve · 22/12/2009 21:57

tulpe, so agree with you, smug gits who have never grown up. However DD loves it so I hope it stays. She has no interest in cars but tunes into their humour. She is a soon to be smug 6th former though!

Divatheshopaholic · 23/12/2009 17:10

i dont think so, althoguh at times i feel like good god grow up men.

5Foot5 · 27/12/2009 12:59

I would be astonished if this were true - the poor ratings or plans to axe it.

We all find it very entertaining and DD is 14 and loves it. In fact I got a DVD of the Challenges for my birthaday (and I asked for it it wasn't a surprise)

I don't see the presenters bas smug at all, just very funny. Incidentally I love James May's Toy Story series too
